Williams Company Southeast Completes New Connextions Project

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando, Fla.-based Williams Company Southeast completed the new $15.2-million, 113,000-square-foot Connextions Corporate Headquarters and Parking Garage, in Orlando, ahead of schedule in just over eight months. The building and the parking garage are situated on a tight 10-acre site on John Young Parkway. The new parking deck includes metal screen panels along the south and west elevations, and is lighted with LED lighting. Designed by Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, Orlando, the Class A office space, 800-seat call center and 342-space precast concrete parking garage also had zero recordable accidents. FMI Releases 2013 Modularization Study

RALEIGH, N.C. — FMI has released its 2013 study on prefabrication and modularization in construction. The report is based on the survey results from construction managers, general contractors, as well as electrical and mechanical contractors. As reported, 81 percent say they own their own prefabrication facilities. This figure is down nine percent since 2010. Dodge Momentum Index Makes Further Gains in September

The Dodge Momentum Index advanced 2.9 percent in September to 118.3 (2000=100) according to McGraw Hill Construction, a division of McGraw Hill Financial. The Momentum Index is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year.
