PHILADELPHIA, Pa., and SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Hill International has received a contract from affiliates of Lennar Urban and Macerich Development to provide construction management consultant services in connection with the development at Candlestick Point in San Francisco, California. The $1-billion project will be developed on a 24-acre parcel that is the location of the now-demolished Candlestick Park, former home of the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants. June Construction Starts Retreat 15%

NEW YORK, N.Y. — New construction starts in June dropped 15 percent from the previous month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $620.2 billion, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. The decline followed an especially strong May, which benefitted from a $9-billion liquefied natural gas export terminal in Texas being entered as a May start. Turner Construction Company announced that the second quarter 2015 Turner Building Cost Index — which measures costs in the non-residential building construction market in the United States — has increased to a value of 938. This reflects a 1.19 percent increase from the First Quarter 2015 and a 4.69 percent yearly increase from the second quarter 2014.
