J.C. Rudden Promoted to Vice President of Information Technology at McCarthy

J.C. Rudden has been promoted to vice president of information technology at McCarthy Holdings. In this role, he will oversee all strategic and operational aspects of technology implementation at McCarthy, including strategy, business intelligence, field and enterprise applications, service desk operations, infrastructure and operations. He will replace Justin McFarland, who has been promoted to chief administrative officer at McCarthy. AIA Releases Latest Architecture Billings Index

The AIA/Deltek Architecture Billings Index remained below 50 for the fourth consecutive month. The score of 45.3 increased by one point from October, indicating slightly fewer firms reporting a decline in billings. Any score below 50 indicates decreasing business conditions, but there are encouraging signs of the pipeline. Stephen E. Sandherr announces his retirement as CEO of the Associated General Contractors of America, effective March 31. Sandherr has been CEO of the association for the commercial construction industry for 27 years and has served it for 37 years in various capacities. The association’s current chief operating officer, Jeffrey Shoaf will serve as the association’s next CEO. Shoaf, who has been COO since 2017, joined AGC in 1994. Turner, JV Partner Walsh Construction Top Out $900M Hospital Project

Turner Construction Company and Joint Venture partner Walsh Construction celebrated the topping out of the $900-million Louisville VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The ceremony was attended by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, other state and local officials, and representatives of the Department of Veterans Affairs and the US Army Corps of Engineers. The Louisville VA Medical Center will offer 104 beds to care for the 45,000 veterans in the area. It will include a Women’s Health Clinic, a utility plant and parking structures. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration renewed a national strategic partnership with the Federal Communications Commission and NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association to eliminate fatalities and reduce injuries and illnesses among workers in the communications tower erection industry. The five-year renewal includes carriers, general contractors and engineering firms in the communications tower erection industry.
