McCarthy Commemorates Construction Topping Out for New Classroom Buildings at Carlsbad High School
CARLSBAD, Calif. — McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., has topped out steel framing for 11 new education buildings at Carlsbad High School, located in Carlsbad, Calif. School district officials, project team members, construction crew workers and students gathered recently to celebrate the milestone. The 11 one- and two-story education buildings will provide 99,000-square-feet of new classroom, performing arts, vocational education lab and food service space. Construction of these buildings represents the third and final phase of an overall $86-million renovation of Carlsbad High School, which began in June 2008. Lend Lease Awarded Contract to Construct the $81.4M, State-of-the-Art Public Safety Campus
LARGO, Fla., — Lend Lease, through its legacy Bovis Lend Lease business, has been awarded the contract to build a brand new, state-of-the-art Public Safety Facilities and Centralized Communications Center for Pinellas County in Largo, Florida. The project has a total budget of $81.4M including all design, development, construction, furnishings and equipment. Construction Employment Increases in February, According to AGC
Construction employment increased in 141 out of 337 metropolitan areas between February 2010 and February 2011, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America.
