Tacoma, WA — The Tacoma Goodwill Industries Milgard Work Opportunity Center, completed by Rushforth Construction in 2009, has won a 2010 Excellence in Construction award from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Western Washington. The Milgard Work Opportunity Center took top prize in the Commercial Construction category. DALLAS, Texas — Charter Builders and Irving Independent School District recently celebrated the official groundbreaking for the largest “net zero” public school in the United States. The first of its kind in Texas, the school district’s Lady Bird Johnson Middle School is designed to produce as much energy as it uses, thereby reducing operating costs for the district and shrinking the school’s carbon footprint. OSHA is accepting nominations for individuals to serve on the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH). The group advises the Secretary of Labor on developing safety and health standards and policies that affect the safety and health of construction workers and the construction industry.
