Rider Levett Bucknall has released its latest Quarterly Cost Report, providing a perspective on the North American construction industry in 14 key markets. With data current to mid-Q2 2023, the latest RLB quarterly cost report shows that the national average increase in construction costs was 1.56% over the previous quarter, with Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas and San Francisco experiencing increases over the national average this quarter. Boston, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and Washington, D.C. experienced gains were less than the national average. Siena College and Gilbane Building Company jointly hosted a groundblessing ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on an expanded science complex at Nobel Hall in Loudonville, New York. Father Mark Reamer, vice president of mission at Siena College, blessed water distributed over the site by the Shaker Road Fire Department. Poettker Construction’s Tom Albers Retires after 43 Years
Poettker Construction Company’s Vice President of Field Operations Tom Albers will retire after 43 years. Albers’ retirement coincides with the company’s 43rd anniversary. Albers joined Poettker as project superintendent in 1980 after completing his carpentry apprentice program. By 1986, Albers was named vice president of field operations responsible for providing overall leadership and technical direction for field operations, including site safety and quality, continuous field technology improvements and innovations in construction processes that helped Poettker expand regionally and enter new markets.
