The International Code Council, ASHRAE Create New Certification
The International Code Council, with sponsorship from ASHRAE, released a new International Green Construction Code certification, Commercial Green Construction Professional. The Commercial Green Construction Professional certification was created to assist in developing new standards for building construction in order to address the problem of greenhouse gas emissions and to help reinforce societal health, life and safety benefits. Construction spending increased in January compared to both December and a year ago, with strong gains in private nonresidential and residential construction but mixed results for public spending, according to an analysis of federal spending data the Associated General Contractors of America.
