U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration reminds stakeholders that the next meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT, Wednesday, Aug. 11. Construction Employment Declines or Stagnates in 101 Metro Areas, Reports Association

Construction employment declined or stagnated in 101 metro areas between February 2020, the last month before the pandemic, and June 2021, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of government employment data. Additive Manufacturing Committee Seeks Participation to Develop Construction Standard

Interested parties are invited to participate in the development of a proposed ASTM International standard that will address quality requirements for additive manufacturing in building and construction. The proposed standard will have a specific focus on structural and infrastructure elements. ASTM International’s additive manufacturing technologies committee is developing the proposed standard. ASTM International member Stephan Mansour says that the range of material covered by the proposed standard will include cement, compound and adobe-based.
