Steel Erectors Contribute to Community Revitalization Projects

Seven steel erection companies have been named as recipients in the annual Project of the Year awards by the Steel Erectors Association of America. One winner was selected in each of four categories based on the dollar amount of the erection contract. In addition, three companies received Honorable Mention. Categories are Class I up to $500,000; Class II $500,000 to $1 million; Class III $1-2.5 million and Class IV over $2.5 million. Licensing Agreement Brings New CSP Samples to Concrete Repair Industry

The International Concrete Repair Institute, the only association in the concrete industry devoted solely to repair and restoration, announces a new licensing agreement with Technical Applications for Concrete Materials. This agreement gives rights to the usage of the industry standard trademarked ICRI Concrete Surface Profiles, CSP. Referencing ICRI Guideline 310.2R-2013, TACM has developed a process to manufacture concrete samples that are comparative to ICRI’s “rubber chips.”   The ICRI CSP chips were introduced to the repair industry in 1997. April Construction Employment Remains Below Pre-Pandemic Peak in 36 States, Reports AGC

Construction employment in April remained below the pre-pandemic high set in February 2020 in 36 states and the District of Columbia, despite increases from March to April in 26 states, according to a recently released analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of government employment data. Green Building Initiative Announces First Public Comment Period for Green Globes for Existing Buildings 2021

Green Building Initiative announces the first comment period is open through July 5 on GBI’s Green Globes for Existing Buildings 2021 or, the draft standard titled BSR/GBI 02-202x, Green Globes Assessment Protocol for Existing Buildings. The draft standard supports assessment of sustainability, health and wellness and resilience of existing buildings and will be refined through public participation over two to three years.
