The Dodge Momentum Index moved a scant 0.1% lower in May to 129.2 (2000=100) from the revised April reading of 129.4. The momentum index, issued by Dodge Data & Analytics, is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year. Construction Employment Declines in Majority of Metro Areas, AGC Says New Transportation Proposal Could Help Restore Jobs
Construction employment declined in more than nine out of 10 metro areas from March to April, a time when industry employment typically increases in most locations, an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of new government data shows. Tarpon Springs High School in Florida Receives $18.1M Makeover
A sweeping $18.1-million modernization of Pinellas County, Florida’s Tarpon Springs High School, was recently completed by JE Dunn Construction, the project’s construction manager.
