Groundbreaking Held for Brethen Tower

DAYTON, Ohio — A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held for Brethen Tower at Carillon Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio. The tower will be more than 100 feet tall and hold the historic Callahan clock, which dates to 1892. Woolpert is providing the civil and structural engineering for the tower, Roll & Associates is providing the code review and architectural support services and Brackett Builders is the contractor. Pilot Program at Middle School Introduces Students to Skilled Trades

C.A.C.T.U.S. (Careers in Architecture, Construction and Trades Uplifting Students) is a pilot program after-school club bringing students and construction professionals together to learn about the exciting career pathways available. Students at Madison Park Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona are working with owners, presidents, project managers, superintendents, various trade professionals and more to learn about the design and build process in the built environment. Construction Employers Add 228K Jobs Throughout Year, Industry Unemployment Rate Lowest Ever for Month

Construction employment increased by 228,000 jobs over the past year despite a weather-related dip last month, and the industry’s unemployment rate fell to 7.4 percent, the lowest yet for March, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America.
