NCCER Announces 2017 Board of Trustees

ALACHUA, Fla. — NCCER elected Chip Reid, CEO of Current Builders in Pompano Beach, Florida, as its 2017 board of trustees’ chairman. Reid succeeds Ed Cassady, CEO of Energy Services in Nashville, Tennessee, who remains a member of the executive committee. C. Rockwell Turner, president of LPR Construction, will serve as the 2017 vice chairman. Construction Begins on New Pima Animal Care Center

TUCSON, Ariz. – Construction of a new shelter is underway at Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. Sundt Construction, Inc. recently began the first phase of the project. The new shelter will be approximately 60,000 square feet. Nearly 93 percent of the total area is allocated to functions that directly house or support the housing, care and adoption of pets at PACC. FAIRFAX, Va. – To those outside the industry, sheet metal work may seem like a man’s world. Internally, journeywomen are thriving, and although the percentage of female sheet metal apprentices is at 4.2 percent, that’s double what it was only two years ago, according to the International Training Institute, the education arm of the unionized sheet metal, welding and air conditioning industry.
