WEST ORANGE, N.J. – Lincoln Educational Services Corporation has entered into an agreement with Johnson Controls to provide expanded career opportunities for Lincoln Tech graduates and to help build the Johnson Controls workforce. This marks the second partnership with a global employer that Lincoln has announced within the last several weeks. Construction Employment Falters in March, Says ABC

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. construction industry lost 15,000 jobs on net in March, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This represents a significant reversal from February, when the industry added a post-recession high of 65,000 net new jobs (upwardly revised from more than 61,000). The construction sector has added 228,000 net new jobs over the past twelve months, which represents a substantial 3.3 percent increase in the number of workers directly employed by the industry. Ground Broken for Long Beach City College Renovations

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Representatives from Long Beach City College announced the groundbreaking ceremony for a $25-million renovation and addition to Auditorium J at Long Beach City College located in Santa Ana, California. The two-year college educates more than 33,000 students per year and is one of the largest community colleges in California. Tepid Rise for Dodge Momentum Index in February

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Dodge Momentum Index increased 0.5 percent in February to 146.9 (2000=100) from the revised January reading of 146.2. The momentum index is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year. The move higher in February was the result of an 8.2 percent increase in the institutional component, while the commercial component contracted 4.8 percent.
