Expected to open in early 2026, the 207-room hotel is the 17th Candlewood Suites property Lendlease and IHG have partnered on since 2009 as part of the Privatization of Army Lodging initiative, a U.S. Army-led, public-private venture to revitalize on-post lodging for service members, their families and government travelers. J.C. Rudden has been promoted to vice president of information technology at McCarthy Holdings. In this role, he will oversee all strategic and operational aspects of technology implementation at McCarthy, including strategy, business intelligence, field and enterprise applications, service desk operations, infrastructure and operations. AIA Releases Latest Architecture Billings Index
The AIA/Deltek Architecture Billings Index remained below 50 for the fourth consecutive month. The score of 45.3 increased by one point from October, indicating slightly fewer firms reporting a decline in billings. Any score below 50 indicates decreasing business conditions, but there are encouraging signs of the pipeline. Firms in all regions reported a decline in billings, with business conditions remaining softest at firms located in the West as the region’s billings hit a low for the year. Stephen E. Sandherr announces his retirement as CEO of the Associated General Contractors of America, effective March 31. Sandherr has been CEO of the association for the commercial construction industry for 27 years and has served it for 37 years in various capacities. Future students and staff attended the grand opening of the new Alamo Colleges District San Antonio College First Responders Academy facility. The building, built by Gilbane Building Company, is slated to host its first class of students in the spring of 2024. The ground-up facility is anticipated to serve the growing population of San Antonio, Texas and meet the educational priorities of the surrounding community.
