Barton Malow-Hunt-White to Build New Detroit Events Center

DETROIT, Mich. — The City of Detroit Downtown Development Authority Board approved the recommendation by Olympia Development of Michigan and the Downtown Development Authority staff to hire Barton Malow-Hunt-White as general contractor for construction of the new Detroit events center. Construction Jobless Rate Declines, Reports AGC

Construction employers added 19,000 workers to payrolls in March, bringing industry employment to the highest level since June 2009, while the industry's unemployment rate dropped to the lowest March level in seven years, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America. Q2 Economic Outlook Upgrades 2014 Equipment and Software Investment Growth Forecast to 4.2%

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Investment in equipment and software is expected to grow 4.2 percent in 2014, according to the Q2 update to the 2014 Equipment Leasing & Finance U.S. Economic Outlook released by the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation. The Foundation increased its 2014 equipment and software investment forecast to 4.2 percent, up from 3.1 percent growth forecast in its 2014 Annual Outlook released in December 2013. Korte is Awarded Project for The State of Oklahoma’s Military Department

The Korte Company will be starting on the first phase of a an estimated $7-8-million, four-phase project for The State of Oklahoma, Office of Management and Enterprise Services, Division of Capital Assets Management, Construction and Properties Department on behalf of the state's Military Department to provide interior and exterior updates and upgrades for an existing Regional Training Institute Billets, which was initially constructed in the mid-1990s.
