New Construction Starts in 2016 to Grow 6%

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Dodge Data & Analytics recently released its 2016 Dodge Construction Outlook, a mainstay in construction industry forecasting and business planning. AIA Expands Portfolio with Launch of New Contract Documents

The American Institute of Architects launched new contract documents. These include a new owner/consultant agreement, as well as six new administrative forms for use on design-build projects. The C103—2015, Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Consultant without a Predefined Scope of Consultant’s Services establishes expectations between an owner and consultant on a project. This agreement contains basic business terms related to copyrights and licenses, claims and disputes, termination or suspension and compensation. Sundt Celebrates Topping Out of New Student Housing Building at San Jose State University

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Sundt Construction, Inc. and San Jose State University held a topping-out ceremony recently for the new Campus Village Phase II complex located in the heart of the San Jose State University campus in San Jose, California. Construction Underway of Large-Scale Solar Facilities

Silicon Ranch Corporation and the Renewable Energy Team of McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. are well under way with construction at Silicon Ranch's 8-Megawatt solar power project in Weld County, Colorado. Poudre Valley REA announced earlier this year their signed purchase power agreement with Silicon Ranch to develop the large 8-megaWatt project that will deliver renewable energy to Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association in Northern Colorado for the next twenty years. Sheffield Korte JV Awarded $22.9M Design-Build Army Reserve Center Project

The Korte Company, along with its joint-venture partner Sheffield Construction, LLC, will begin construction on a 600-member Army Reserve Center near Waldorf, Maryland. The design-build project includes the design and construction of an ARC training facility (79,795 square feet), organizational maintenance shop (5,703 square feet) and an unheated storage building (5,163 square feet). The scope of work includes site development including sitework, utilities and anti-terrorism/force protection, as well as other site improvements to support the development.
