Construction employment increased in fewer than half of the nation’s metro areas between July 2014 and July 2015, the weakest expansion since late 2011, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Mayo Civic Center Construction Surpasses Milestones
ROCHESTER, Minn. — A significant project for the City of Rochester, the convention center addition to the Mayo Civic Center, reached the 10 percent completion mark on July 31. The project, which broke ground on March 19, is expected to be open to the public in 2017. More than $7 million of work has been completed on the $84-million expansion project thus far. Demolition, steel piles and major utilities are now complete on the convention center addition, and earthwork activities have started on the kitchen addition. First Brick Laid on the Atlanta Braves" SunTrust Park Site
American Builders 2017 recently laid the first brick at the Atlanta Braves" SunTrust Park, in Georgia, with the help of 83-year-old brick mason Eutis Morris. Morris worked on the brick and block at both Atlanta's original Fulton County Stadium and Turner Field. Equipment Leasing and Finance Association's Survey of Economic Activity: Monthly Leasing and Finance Index
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association's Monthly Leasing and Finance Index (MLFI-25), which reports economic activity from 25 companies representing a cross section of the $903-billion equipment finance sector, showed their overall new business volume for July was $8.2 billion, up 4 percent from new business volume in July 2014. Volume was down 14 percent from $9.5 billion in June. Year to date, cumulative new business volume increased 8 percent compared to 2014.
