AUSTIN, Texas — Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors is breaking ground in late June on a 16,000-square-foot expansion of Texas State University’s STAR One building, located at 3055 Hunter Road in San Marcos, Texas. Construction Expected to Grow at Modest Rate Across Key Sectors
NEW YORK, N.Y. — Construction activities are expected to grow at 5 percent in 2015, leveling off from the previous forecast of 8 percent in Q1 2015, according to the Q2 Construction Outlook recently released by FMI Corporation. Architecture Billings Index Returns to Positive Territory
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Led by growing demand for new schools, hospitals, cultural facilities and municipal buildings, the Architecture Billings Index increased in May following its second monthly drop this year. As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate 9-12-month lead time between architecture billings and construction spending. The American Institute of Architects reported the May ABI score was 51.9, up from a mark of 48.8 in April.
