DPR Construction Purchases Hardin Construction

ATLANTA, Ga. and REDWOOD CITY, Calif— DPR Construction has purchased Atlanta, Ga.-based Hardin Construction Company, LLC. The two companies are combining operations in the Southeast and Texas markets, including Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Raleigh, Tampa, Orlando and West Palm Beach. The combined company will operate nationally as DPR Construction, with the exception of Atlanta where it will operate as DPR Hardin Construction. AGC Releases Latest Construction Employment Data

Construction employment increased in 30 states in March as the industry expanded but at a slower pace than in February, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of Labor Department. Association officials cautioned, however, that many states remain vulnerable to construction cutbacks from newly enacted and proposed decreases in federal funding for infrastructure. “A majority of states are adding jobs month by month and year-over-year,” said Ken Simonson, the association's chief economist. “The expansion appears poised to continue for residential and private nonresidential construction. Hendrick Construction to Renovate Historic York Building

YORK, S.C. — Hendrick Construction, Inc. has won a $2-million contract to renovate the McCelvey Center Annex in the City of York’s historic district. The 18,600-square-foot project features the upgrade of a concrete block and brick structure. The building will house the Historical Center of York County, an archives and genealogical library, and the Southern Revolutionary War Institute when it is completed, which is scheduled for fall 2013.
