WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will hold a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health May 7-8 in Washington, D.C. Work groups will meet May 7 and the full committee will meet May 8. ACCSH, established under the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, advises the secretary of labor and assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health on construction standards and policy matters. McCownGordon Construction Kicks off $40M K-State Project

MANHATTAN, Kan. — McCownGordon Construction will begin work on the Kansas State University College of Engineering Expansion on April 7. Construction will start with site utility relocation, earthwork and demolition. Slated to open in fall 2015, the building, designed by Perkins+Will and Momenta headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., will include classrooms, laboratories, an auditorium, gathering areas for faculty and staff and space for the college's student design teams. Brasfield & Gorrie Completes Eagle & Phenix Mill No. 1 Renovation

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Brasfield & Gorrie recently announced the completed renovation of the Eagle & Phenix Mill No. 1 in Columbus, Ga. The $6.6-million construction project transformed the nineteenth-century cotton mill into an apartment building. Kobelco Raises Nearly $20K for Wounded Warrior Project at ConExpo/ConAgg

The bucket of an awe-inspiring crawler excavator collected nearly $20,000 in donations for the Wounded Warrior Project at KOBELCO Construction Machinery USA’s ConExpo/ConAgg booth.   KOBELCO created only five limited edition SK350LC crawler excavators wrapped in a patriotic/military design as part of a WWP fundraiser, and displayed one at the recent Las Vegas, Nev. construction industry trade show.
