The bucket of an awe-inspiring crawler excavator collected nearly $20,000 in donations for the Wounded Warrior Project at KOBELCO Construction Machinery USA’s ConExpo/ConAgg booth.   KOBELCO created only five limited edition SK350LC crawler excavators wrapped in a patriotic/military design as part of a WWP fundraiser, and displayed one at the recent Las Vegas, Nev. construction industry trade show. Construction Spending Inches Higher, According to AGC

Total construction spending in February edged up from January despite adverse weather in much of the nation, as private residential and nonresidential components posted solid growth compared with early 2013, according to an analysis of new Census Bureau data by the Associated General Contractors of America. McCarthy Building Companies Completes Construction of First New Mars Chocolate North America Site in 35 Years

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. has completed construction of the new Mars Chocolate North America plant in Topeka, Kan. The plant is the first new Mars Chocolate North America site in the U.S. in the last 35 years. The completion of the roughly 500,000-square-foot facility also represents McCarthy’s first completion of a Kansas project since 1991. AGC Reports on February Construction Employment

Construction firms added jobs in 37 states over the past 12 months and in 30 states between January and February according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of Labor Department data.
