OSHA Extends Comment Period on Proposed Silica Rule

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration is extending the public comment period for the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Occupational Exposure to Crystalline Silica to Feb. 11.   In response to concerns raised about possible public confusion due to an error on www.regulations.gov, the federal government’s online portal for submitting rulemaking comments, the deadline has been extended from Jan. 27 to Feb. 11 to allow stakeholders additional time to comment on the proposed rule. Equipment Lease Finance Industry Confidence Much Higher in January

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation has released the January 2014 Monthly Confidence Index for the Equipment Finance Industry. Designed to collect leadership data, the index reports a qualitative assessment of both the prevailing business conditions and expectations for the future as reported by key executives from the $827-billion equipment finance sector. Overall, confidence in the equipment finance market is 64.9, the highest confidence level in two years, and an increase from the December index of 55.8. Kraus-Anderson, Elion Partners Form Joint Venture to Redevelop Woodbury Campus

WOODBURY, Minn. — Kraus-Anderson and Elion Partners, a Florida-based national real estate investment firm, announced a new joint venture that will redevelop a 100-acre corporate campus at Interstate 94 and Radio Drive   in Woodbury, Minn. Another Decline for Architecture Billings Index

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following consistently increasing demand for design services throughout most of 2013, the Architecture Billings Index has posted its first consecutive months of contraction since May and June of 2012.   As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate nine- to twelve-month lead time between architecture billings and construction spending.   The American Institute of Architects reported the December ABI score was 48.5, down from a mark of 49.8 in November.   This score reflects a decrease in design services (any score above 50 indicates an increase in billings).   The new projects … Read more
