Construction Spending Rises for Seventh Straight Month Reports AGC

All major segments of construction spending increased in October, bringing total spending to a 37-month high at an annualized rate of $872 billion, according to an analysis of new federal data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Association officials warned, however, that the fiscal cliff imperils future improvement in both public and private spending. Brasfield & Gorrie Completes New Facility at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

Bethesda, Md.— Brasfield & Gorrie, in a joint venture with Walbridge, announced the completion of the new Main Exchange Complex at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. This design-build project began in July 2011 and was completed in October 2012. Grand opening ceremonies were held by the commanding officer of Naval Support Activities Bethesda on Saturday, November 10, and the facility is now serving the campus. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Moves into Energy Efficient Office Building

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers moved into new headquarters at Federal Center South Building 1202, a design-build project led by ZGF Architects LLP and Sellen Construction.   The 209,000-square-foot, high-performance building transforms an industrial brownfield warehouse site into a 21st century workplace and sets a new standard for the marketplace.
