Silverstein was joined by approximately 1,000 construction workers and other New York government, civic and business leaders at a topping out ceremony marking the completion of steel erection for the new 4 World Trade Center — the first office tower that will be completed and opened on the original 16-acre World Trade Center site. Clark/McCarthy Team Gets Down and Dirty at Camp Pendleton World Famous 10K Mud Run
SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A team of 66 employees of McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., stepped up the firm's tradition of charitable community involvement by participating in the World Famous Mud Run on June 16 aboard the Camp Pendleton Base north of Oceanside, Calif. This year's Mud Run was held at the military base over three consecutive weekends. Proceeds raised from the race benefited the Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA. Ground Breaks for First Known American Indian Veterans National Memorial
PHOENIX, Ariz. — The first known memorial dedicated to Native American Veterans who served in any American war is under construction at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Ariz. The groundbreaking was punctuated with tribal traditions and attended by American Indian Veterans of all ages. The American Indian Veterans National Memorial is anticipated to be a major attraction for the Heard Museum when completed in November 2012. Sundt Massive, Overnight Pour Consumed 380 Truckloads of Concrete
TUCSON, Ariz. — Beginning at midnight on Friday, June 8, Sundt Construction, Inc. executed the first of two massive concrete pours that will form the foundation of the new 290,000-square-foot courthouse shared by Pima County and the city of Tucson, Ariz. Construction at the site, located at Toole and Stone avenues in downtown Tucson, began Feb. 1 and is scheduled for completion in August 2013.
