AGC: Construction Employment Increases in 39 States between July 2023 and July 2024

Construction employment increased in 39 states in July from a year earlier, while 29 states and the District of Columbia added construction jobs between June and July, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Final Steel Beam Placed on New Okaloosa Gas District Headquarters

The final steel beam was placed on the Okaloosa Gas District headquarters in Valparaiso, Florida, signifying structural completion of the project. The space will allow Okaloosa Gas District to consolidate its team members into a new community-focused location to serve Panhandle residents for years to come. Okaloosa Gas District team members will be moving into the new space in the fall of 2025, leaving behind their existing campus, where many of the buildings have reached end of use. Clovis Community Medical Center in California has received a 2024 Gold Nugget Award during the Pacific Coast Builders Conference. The project, which won in the Best Health/Wellness Design Solution category, was selected from hundreds of entries as the best of the category. The project involved a new 148-bed tower, along with renovated and expanded departments. ABC Releases July Construction Materials Prices Analysis

Construction input prices increased .4% in July compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors’ analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index data. Nonresidential construction input prices also increased .4% for the month. Overall construction input prices are 1.1% higher than a year ago, while nonresidential construction input prices are .8% higher. Prices increased in all three energy subcategories last month.
