Teens Sign on for Careers in Skilled Trades
Boldt recently hosted a signing day to celebrate its youth apprentices committing to pursue a career in the skilled trades or attend a post-secondary institution. Following the signing day, the company hosted a new career event called BuildX, an interactive day-in-the-life experience to connect industry leaders and high school students curious about a career in construction, architecture or engineering. Associated Builders and Contractors recently announced the winners of its annual, national Construction Workforce Awards, which includes Craft Instructor of the Year, Craft Professional of the Year and Young Professional of the Year. State Construction Unemployment Down in 45 States from Previous Year, Says ABC
The not-seasonally adjusted national construction unemployment rate dropped 2.6% in March 2022 from a year ago, down from 8.6% to 6%, while 45 states had lower unemployment rates over the same period, according to a state-by-state analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released by Associated Builders and Contractors. This considerable improvement occurred as cases of the omicron variant fell and many states began lifting some or all of their COVID-19 restrictions. Partnership to Address Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in the Construction Industry
A collaborative partnership between the Associated Builders and Contractors and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will address mental health and suicide prevention throughout the U.S. construction industry.
