International flights have already begun departing from the new D West terminal at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The joint-venture team of Austin-Gilbane has successfully delivered the Mickey Leland International Terminal, marking a significant milestone for the city of Houston (Texas). Over the last seven years, Austin-Gilbane has worked diligently to significantly expand and refurbish one of the busiest airports in the United States. Terminal D Pier West Tops Out at Houston Airport

Over 350 people gathered to celebrate the topping out of the new D West Pier at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. Staff from Houston Airports, Fentress Architects and consultants, Austin-Gilbane Joint-Venture and the subcontractors participated in the beam ceremony and an appreciation lunch. When the project is complete, the international carrier gate capacity will increase to 18.
