Hensel Phelps has been selected to provide Construction Manager at Risk services for the Concourse A Reconstruction Project at Nashville International Airport by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority. As part of the BNA New Horizon program, a long-term plan to accommodate Middle Tennessee’s rapid growth, this project marks Hensel Phelps’ fourth major contract at the airport. The Concourse A project will include the demolition of the existing six-gate concourse and old International Arrivals Facility, reconstruction of a new 16-gate Concourse A and a landside extension of North ticketing and baggage claim. Hensel Phelps has been selected as the construction management/general contractor for the Department of Energy Office of Science Second Target Station project. Oak Ridge National Laboratory is upgrading its spallation neutron source by adding a second target station to provide transformational new neutron capabilities that will advance scientific discovery and solve emerging societal challenges. Researchers use neutrons to understand the structure and function of materials at the scale of atoms and above. New Underground Utilities Prepare Way for Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Replacement Hospital

Largescale utility construction is underway in Torrance, California, at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center campus. The project is part of preparations for a replacement hospital, which is in the design phase. Abbott Construction is leading the make-ready utility portion of the project to support the new outpatient treatment and support building. The work goes deep underground, and includes electrical and telecommunication duct banks, domestic and fire water lines, storm system infrastructure and other low voltage utilities.
