In advance of World Sea Turtle Day in June, DPR Construction and the University of Florida’s Whitney Research Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, located in St. Augustine, Florida, began working together to help protect these creatures by constructing the Sea Turtle Hospital, a purpose-built facility dedicated to the rehabilitation and conservation of endangered sea turtles. Overlooking the Matanzas Estuary, the new facility will expand the organization’s capabilities, including multiple laboratories, education areas and a sea turtle research center and hospital. Neuroscience Research Building at Washington University School of Medicine Opens

A grand opening was recently celebrated for the new Jeffrey T. Fort Neuroscience Research Building for Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Designed to accelerate research in areas that include Alzheimer’s disease and brain tumors, the facility accommodates 1,000 faculty and staff, including 95 research teams. Additional space could be built out in the future to accommodate another 350 faculty and staff, including about 145 research teams. The Consolidated Headquarters Complex for the California Military Department recently opened, bringing together the California Army National Guard, California Air National Guard and California State Guard in one location. The $160-million project located in Rancho Cordova was led by Stantec and The Walsh Group. A new mixed-use high-rise development is under construction along Atlanta, Georgia’s BeltLine. Led by developer New City, LLC, this new 1.1-million-square-foot project includes office space and street-level retail organized around a central public plaza. The project, which is located on the site of a former Georgia Power operations center, also includes HKS as executive architect and Brasfield & Gorrie as general contractor.
