McCarthy Building Companies Inc.’s Water Services team has been selected as the construction manager at-risk for the $215-million expansion of the Sioux Falls Regional Water Reclamation Plant in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. McCarthy Building Companies recently hosted its annual Construction 101 event in its Newport Beach, California office. A total of 33 students participated. Construction 101 Day provided a supportive, hands-on learning experience with introduction to a construction career for high school girls ages 14-18. McCarthy has formed a civil business unit for the company’s Southern region. Jeromy Shaw, senior vice president of operations, leads the civil business unit, focusing on clients in transportation, rail, aviation, renewables, water and commercial markets. Shaw joined McCarthy in 2012 and has over 20 years of experience in the industry. In his previous role, Shaw was responsible for the oversight of the Dallas preconstruction team, leading preconstruction efforts for projects in key market sectors including roads and bridges, water and wastewater, renewable energy and marine market sectors.
