Haselden Construction Opens North Regional Office in Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Haselden’s North Regional office, located at 330 South College Ave. in Fort Collins, Colorado, officially opened last month. Fort Collins Mayor Wade Troxell attended the grand opening and performed the ribbon cutting. The 1,750-square-foot office houses half a dozen team members, with more using it on a temporary basis, depending on the project they’re working on. Skanska Builds Office Building, Movie Theater in Tysons Corner
Skanska has signed a contract with The Meridian Group & Rockefeller Group to build a new office building and movie theater in Tysons Corner in Virginia. The contract is worth $167 million. Skanska will build the new 20-story, approximately 460,000-square-feet Class A office building, and a more than 107,000-square-foot movie theater both constructed over a shared 5-level, below-grade parking garage. The office project will be seeking LEED Gold certification.
Clark Completes ‘LAX Terminal Shuffle’ Milestone
Clark, in a joint venture with McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., has completed a monumental task on the Delta Enabling project. The Clark/McCarthy team performed the orchestrated relocation of more than 30 airlines and tenants to terminals throughout Los Angeles International Airport. The “LAX Terminal Shuffle,” as it was coined by local media, migrated Delta Air Lines’ operations from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3. The relocation is part of a long-term plan to connect Terminals 2 and 3 with the Tom Bradley International Terminal, which will increase Delta’s flight capacity and international operations at LAX. Hensel Phelps Awarded UTEP Interdisciplinary Research Building Project
Hensel Phelps has been awarded the University of Texas at El Paso Interdisciplinary Research Building project in El Paso, Texas. This project includes the construction of a new 150,000-square-foot building to replace two underutilized buildings. It will provide critically needed space to continue expanding the number of fast-growing, multidisciplinary research initiatives aligned with the priorities articulated in UTEP’s Research Strategic Plan. Additional scope will include expanding the thermal plant infrastructure, extending electrical and communication duct banks and other anticipated site improvements. Preconstruction started in August of 2016, with construction starting in March of 2017.
