Contractors Unite to Create Inaugural ‘Construction Inclusion Week’ Oct. 18-22

In 2020, six general contractors created a consortium, Time for Change, with a single purpose: to identify ways to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the construction industry. The shared effort by Gilbane Building Company, DPR Construction, Turner Construction Company, Mortenson, McCarthy Building Companies and Clark Construction Group resulted in organizing an industry-wide Construction Inclusion Week which will be held Oct. 18-22. The theme of “Building the Foundation for Inclusion” will encourage focused dialogue and action in the industry. Additive Manufacturing Committee Seeks Participation to Develop Construction Standard

Interested parties are invited to participate in the development of a proposed ASTM International standard that will address quality requirements for additive manufacturing in building and construction. The proposed standard will have a specific focus on structural and infrastructure elements. ASTM International’s additive manufacturing technologies committee is developing the proposed standard. ASTM International member Stephan Mansour says that the range of material covered by the proposed standard will include cement, compound and adobe-based. Remodels, Construction Complete on CVS Health Clinics

Open store remodels and construction are complete on new Minute Clinic/HealthHUB clinics at CVS Pharmacy locations in Leawood, Kansas; Chattanooga, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri. The projects included constructing new Minute Clinic/HealthHUB clinic rooms, waiting room, pharmacy consultation room and a group sales room. Knoebel Construction was the general contractor on the $350,000 project. Each 10,000-square-foot CVS location also was modernized with new finishes, including paint, flooring, millwork, brand signage and shelving.
