Direct Steel and Construction recently participated in the largest U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project since the Panama Canal. This summer, the Louisville district of the USACE hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for over 1,000 attendees at the Olmsted site. Situated at the base of Illinois, where the Mississippi, Tennessee and Cumberland rivers connect, the project involved two 110-foot by 1,200-foot locks and an extensive dam to replace the aging Ohio River locks and dams completed in 1929.
