MCKINNEY, Texas—MYCON General Contractors has been selected to build a new five-story, 199,950-square-foot, air-conditioned facility for Public Storage, according to MYCON’s vice president of office and industrial services, John Riggins.
Located at 4646 Harry Hines Blvd. in Dallas, Texas, the project scope includes demolition, site work and ground up construction built in compliance with the city of Dallas’ Green Building Program, Phase 2 standards. Plans call for using a patented, multi-story freestanding structural steel framing system with a 10-by-10 grid of stackable steel tube columns running vertically from floor-to-floor, thereby maximizing flexibility of the floor plan, expediting the construction process and reducing project costs.
Construction on the project started in the fall of 2015 and is targeted for completion in October 2016. Merriman & Associates is the architect, and Bury is the civil engineer.
