AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Advanced Computing Center recently celebrated its 15th anniversary with the dedication of its new Advanced Computing Center Building on the University of Texas J.J. Pickle Research Campus in Austin, Texas. The new 38,000-square-foot, three-story facility provides offices, an auditorium, meeting rooms and a state-of-the-art visualization lab to support TACC’s mission of “advancing science and society through the application of advanced computing technologies” through the design and operation of some of the largest supercomputers in the world.
The new building will support TACC’s continued growth and provides a sophisticated and inviting design that reflects TACC’s emphasis on technology, innovation, sustainability and transparency.
O’Connell Robertson provided the architecture, MEP engineering and interior design services for the new building, working with Design/Build partner Flintco.
In addition to O’Connell Robertson and Flintco, the project team included Datum-Gojer (structural engineering), MWM DesignGroup (civil engineering), DataCom Design Group (technology/communications), Edwards+Mulhausen (FF&E), BAi (acoustics/AV) and Coleman & Associates (landscape architecture).
