ROCHESTER, Minn. — Knutson Construction has been awarded the contract to expand the existing Whitewater campground, located in Altura, Minnesota. The project is estimated at $7.2 million with an anticipated completion date of July 2017.
The project consists of expanding the existing 2,700-acre park with a majority of the work consisting of site clearing, excavation, erosion control, bituminous and concrete pavement, water distribution system, septic system, electrical work, landscaping and site preparation. New buildings will be constructed throughout the campground, which include two sanitation buildings, three picnic shelters, four camper cabins and a photovoltaic system.
Knutson will be working with the State of Minnesota Department of Administration, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, LHB Inc., Gausman & Moore and WSB & Associates.
