NEW YORK, N.Y. – Lendlease, through its Lendlease Foundation, it will host a Building Mental Health Awareness Event on April 20 in New York. The awareness event comprises a mental health fair, dinner and discussion on suicide prevention led by international suicide prevention advocate Kevin Hines.
To further foster awareness of suicide prevention and promote mental health, Lendlease has been working with the Carson J Spencer Foundation and the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention in the United States. Following “The Blue Print Suicide Prevention in the Construction Industry,” a program that was designed specifically to combat suicide in the construction industry by CPF and NASSP, Lendlease has enacted the following policies and programs throughout its operations across the country:
- Access to a 24/7, 365 days-a-year employee assistance program
- Active intervention by training over 150 Mental Health First Aid USA officers
- Well-being leave in addition to current paid time off to provide employees with an opportunity to focus specifically on their physical and mental well-being through options including yoga retreats, meditation courses or preventive medical checkups
- A “Mental Health in the Workplace” guidebook available online for all employees
- Applied training programs across the spectrum of mental health that cover both a thriving, healthy mind and understanding the phases of becoming unwell with active intervention, recovery and support
- A healthy minds program including mindfulness training, mind productivity, resilience and health and well-being conversations
