Hill International has received a contract from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority to provide the general consultancy services for the $2.26-billion Mumbai Metro Line 4 as part of a consortium consisting of DB Engineering & Consulting GMBH as the lead partner and Louis Berger Consulting Pvt. Ltd. as another partner.
The project consists of a 32.3-kilometer elevated corridor and includes 32 stations along the Wadala-Ghatkopar-Mulund-Thane-Kasarvadavali corridor.
Hill is serving in a consortium whose general services will comprise design review, project management and construction supervision. The project is expected to reduce current travel times by 50-75 percent, according to officials.
