Women Builders Council Celebrates 15th Annual Champion Awards

Women Builders Council recently celebrated its 15th Annual Champion Awards Dinner in New York. As a leading association for women in the building trades, Women Builder Council’s annual event featured over 600 guests and recognized 165 outstanding and next-generation women builders for the important role they play in building New York’s evolving skyline.

Among those honored at the awards dinner, Corryn Darling of Hudson Meridian was recognized in WBC’s Next Generation of Women Builders category. An honor reserved for those 35 and under, Darling has demonstrated the highest caliber of leadership, interest in the industry and career promise.

Jackie Vinceslao, also with Hudson Meridian, was honored with a WBC Outstanding Women award. This award is presented to individuals who have made great strides in their professional career, while supporting the organization’s mission of increasing diversity and the role of women in the building industry.

In addition, Bomi Kim of NYCEDC was presented with WBC’s 2019 Public Private Partnership Award. This award is given to individuals committed to connecting private sector companies with government programs and key decision makers to increase diversity and the role of women in the construction industry. Kim was recognized for her leadership in developing, implementing and managing New York City’s business development program for certified minority, women and disadvantaged business, entitled Opportunity MWDBE. Since its inception, the initiative has awarded over $112 million in prime and subcontracts to MWDBEs across New York City.
