CIMIC Group company, CPB Contractors, has been awarded Auckland (New Zealand) Airport’s Taxiway Mike and Remote Stands Stage 2 project, a critical component in the facility’s major capital works program.
The contract will generate revenue to CPB Contractors of approximately NZ$221 million over the next two years.
Works include construction of an additional taxiway, extension of an existing taxiway and six remote stands with in-ground jet fuel reticulation, as part of a major expansion at New Zealand’s largest and busiest airport.
The project includes 900,000 cubic meters of earthworks, laying 130,000 cubic meters of aggregate basecourse,168,000 square meters of concrete pavement, construction of 3,200-meter stormwater drainage system, runoff and treatment lagoon and a 2,200-meter in-ground jet fuel network.
The project is expected to be completed by October 2021.
