Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Vertical Expansion Tops Out

Memorial Healthcare System’s Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital’s vertical expansion, located in Hollywood, Florida, recently topped out. Robins & Morton is serving as the general contractor and the architect is HKS, Inc.

Once all work is complete in the fall of 2022, the four-floor, 164,038-square-foot expansion will include 72 new patient rooms, two cardiac hybrid operating rooms, two surgical suites and an intraoperative MRI. The four new floors are on top of the existing four-floor facility and it now stands eight stories.

Building on the hospital’s theme, Power of Play, the project also features several play zones and family support areas with amenities such as a fitness center, spa and family dining area. The expansion also includes an elevated outdoor terrace on the fifth floor for patients and families.
