Joint Venture Selected to Lead Work of $550M Hospital Project

Turner Construction Company, alongside joint-venture partners Byrne Construction Services and Straight Line Management, recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the University Health Palo Alto Hospital campus in San Antonio, Texas. The $550-million hospital will improve healthcare services for the people in the Southside San Antonio community. Palo Alto Hospital will be a state-of-the-art, five-story hospital that will include an emergency room, labor and delivery suites, neonatal intensive care unit, operating rooms, inpatient rooms and an attached medical office building to serve the rapidly growing area. The Palo Alto Hospital is expected to be open to patients in 2027.

UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest Outpatient Pavilion Tops Out

The new outpatient pavilion at UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest (California) has topped out. Part of the first phase of the UC San Diego Long Range Development Plan, the six-story, 250,000-square-foot facility will house key clinical programs, addressing the region’s growing demand for specialized diagnostic, treatment and surgical services, notably in cancer care. Contractor Named for Three Major Queensland Hospital Expansions

Three contracts have been awarded to construction contractor BESIX Watpac to deliver expansions at Ipswich, Townsville and Mackay Base Hospitals, located in Australia. These projects form part of the State Government’s Queensland Health and Hospitals Plan, which includes a record-breaking $9.7-billion investment in health over the next six years to deliver new hospitals in the state. Construction Complete on Houston Methodist Sugar Land Medical Office Building

Construction of two structures on the campus of Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, located in the greater Houston, Texas area, is complete. The project included a six-story medical office building and an attached seven-level parking garage. Ground was broken in December 2021.
