Construction of the main structure of the Chongli Overseas Chinese Ice-Snow Museum, located in China, completed 12 days ahead of schedule. As the first museum themed by Winter Olympic Games, it’s also the largest ice and snow museum in the country with the most abundant exhibits.
With a total investment of about 300 million yuan, the museum is designed by Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chief Architect of China Architectural Design and Research Institute Cui Kai, and built by China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. It adopts the “two-in-one” construction mode for the museum and library, with a total planning construction area of 24,035 square meters. Among them, the ice and snow museum is 6,861 square meters, and the library is 5,414 square meters.
The museum is composed mainly of four parts, including the lobby, winter sports history hall, Winter Olympic Games history hall and the Beijing Olympic Winter Games hall, as well as one winter sports experience area. Once completed, it will become an important base for promoting winter sports in the world and for the study on ice and snow culture.
As one of the representative projects of fair-faced concrete, the The Chongli Overseas Chinese Ice-Snow Museum created a special-shaped, fair-faced concrete structure after learning from the design and construction experience of previous classic fair-faced concrete projects. The fair-faced concrete the project used can cover an area about 28,000 square meters.
