The International Code Council family of solutions will join modular construction professionals from around the world at this year’s 39th annual World of Modular Convention and Tradeshow hosted by the Modular Building Institute on April 25-28.
The World of Modular Convention provides individuals in the commercial modular building industry with the opportunity to network, learn from high-profile experts, display new products and attend educational presentations about the latest trends in offsite construction. The event also extends the opportunity to discuss ongoing industry issues, including housing affordability and building quality and sustainability, and how the use of offsite construction is seen as one approach to help confront these challenges.
The Code Council and MBI developed multiple resources in 2021 to help support the safe and efficient use of offsite construction, which will be discussed at this year’s event. The organizations released two new American National Standards to support consistency within the offsite construction process and introduce how offsite construction projects demonstrate compliance with building codes.
As one of the key sponsors of the World of Modular Convention, the Code Council will be running several activities during the event:
- Members of the ICC family of solutions, including NTA and ICC-ES, will be exhibiting at booth 213, which will be staffed with a dedicated team of professionals to facilitate networking and learning opportunities. There will also be a digital booth for participants who will be joining the event virtually.
- Ryan Colker, the Code Council’s vice president of innovation, will be speaking on the introduction to ICC/MBI Off-Site Construction Standards at 10:30 a.m. CST on Tuesday, April 26.
