Chuxiong-Dali Expressway Opens to Traffic 1 Year Ahead of Schedule

Recently, the Chuxiong (Guangtong) to Dali Expressway, located in China and built by CSCEC, was officially opened to traffic one year ahead of schedule.

Chuxiong (Guangtong) to Dali Expressway is an important part of the Yunnan section of national expressway network G56 Hangzhou to Ruili Expressway. It is an international corridor connecting Southeast Asia. It goes through eight minority concentrations, the population of these areas reaching to 21 million.

After the official opening of the project, the drive from Kunming to Dali will be shortened to 2 ½, and Kunming to Chuxiong in just over an hour, relieving traffic pressure on the old Chuxiong-Dali Expressway.

CSCEC builds two sections, ZCB-3-TJ6 and ZCB-3-TJ7, with a total length of 11.7 kilometers.

The project is located in the deep mountains of plateaus, so the geological situation is complex. The two sections have a total of 22 bridges and 19 culverts/tunnels. The mountainous area accounted for about 90%. The project team completed the main project nodes one year ahead of schedule, which lays a solid foundation to realize the opening of the whole line.
