The Tech Port Center + Arena in San Antonio, Texas, has recently been completed. The facility is in the middle of the 1,900-acre campus, which already houses more than 80 employers and 14,000 employees. Sundt Construction served as the general contractor on the project.
The $60-million Center + Arena is a state-of-the-art place for entertainment experiences. The 130,000-square-foot facility features a 3,200-seat arena that will host various entertainment events, including esports competitions, concerts and large training programs. The center will also be the new home of the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology, which will host numerous exhibits, demonstrations and classes.
The project also included adding integrated classrooms and meeting spaces for educational programs, a research and development technology collaboration lab, a large 24-hour electronic gaming area and a full-scale food hall. A highlight of the project included the installation of eight Tesla coils, the largest display of its kind in the world.
