Gilbane Building Company announced that Matthew Thompson joined the team as Operations Manager for its Chicago office. Thompson has two decades of experience in the Midwest commercial construction industry and will bring his design, construction and development expertise to the company’s growing Chicagoland portfolio.
Before joining Gilbane, Thompson spent 20 years managing projects and project teams across various sectors in the Midwest, including criminal justice, laboratory, multi-family housing, defense and historic preservation projects. He has a degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and graduated with distinction from Northwestern University’s MBA program. At Northwestern, Matt specialized in analytical consulting, management strategy and entrepreneurship and innovation.
