McLaren to Deliver Block F of Rental Housing-Led Regeneration of Bermondsey Biscuit Factory

Greystar Real Estate Partners has appointed McLaren Construction to deliver Block F of the rental housing-led regeneration of the Peek Frean biscuit factory in Bermondsey, London (England).

The general contractor is responsible for creating 230 of the total 1,624 high-quality build-to-rent homes in the regeneration project. Block F will be a mixed-use building part of the regeneration scheme, offering new homes, as well as retail spaces from the ground floor to level 2 of the building.

To deliver Block F, McLaren will partially retain the former packing factory on the site, and repurpose it to fit the needs of modern occupiers, while minimizing environmental impact. In addition, the contractor will create employment opportunities during construction, including apprenticeships and skilled jobs.

The brownfield site, situated on a former biscuit factory, will be transformed to include retail, leisure and office spaces, as well as extensive amenities for residents such as lounges, workspaces, gyms, private dining rooms, an indoor swimming pool and expansive roof terraces.

Construction of the project began earlier this year, with the first homes expected to be ready for occupancy in fall 2025. The vision for the Bermondsey Project extends beyond just housing, with an emphasis on creating a vibrant and sustainable new neighborhood integrated into the existing local community.

Block F is scheduled for completion in 2027.
