Skanska Launches Construction Management Building Blocks Program in Atlanta

Skanska has launched its Construction Management Building Blocks program in Atlanta, Georgia, bringing its subcontractor engagement initiative to more than two dozen local firms.

The free coaching and education initiative is designed to help small, local construction firms build capacity, strengthen operations and position themselves for long-term success when working with large general contractors. Participants learn from industry professionals who provide insight into what it takes to run a successful business in the construction industry.

A comprehensive curriculum covers essential topics including certification basics, competitive bidding and estimating, insurance requirements, prequalification processes, marketing strategies, project scheduling, billing procedures, safety standards, and project execution and closeout workstream tactics.

Since its inception in 2006, Skanska’s CMBB program has graduated more than 800 companies nationwide and has generated approximately $740 million in contracts between Skanska and program participants. The program celebrates diversity, enriches partnerships and strengthens communities by providing essential information and addressing barriers to success in the construction industry.
