Balfour Beatty announced the official openings of two major transportation projects for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
In December, the Havelock Bypass project officially opened to vehicular traffic, a significant achievement in reducing congestion and improving hurricane evacuation routes along a portion of U.S. 70. Balfour Beatty’s scope of work included constructing approximately 9.2 miles of four-lane, divided highway with interchanges, bridges and environmental features designed to protect the Croatan National Forest.
The Fayetteville Outer Loop project is also fully open to traffic, providing improved regional connectivity and reduced travel times through the newly accessible interstate that directly connects Fort Bragg and surrounding communities. Balfour Beatty’s portion of the work included building multiple segments of the highway, featuring interchanges, overpasses and roadway improvements to enhance freight movement and regional mobility.
